February Half Term Days Out With Kids

February Half Term Days Out With Kids
The February half-term is just around the corner, so we’ve put together some great attractions and events to visit with kids if you’re heading to the South Lakes!
Brockhole Visitor Centre
Brockhole has lots to offer for the more adventurous with an adventure playground, archery, boat hire, bike hire and much more. It’s also home to tree top treks letting you fly, climb and swing through the trees, or tree top nets for the younger adventurer. If that’s not your thing, there’s the house and gardens to explore, as well as a gift shop and tea rooms.

February half term events include ‘Wild Art at Brockhole’ on the 16th February where the whole family can create art work inspired by the natural surroundings, and face painting on the 18th February.

Please note there may be charges for some of the activities listed, please see www.brockhole.co.uk for full details of prices, activities and opening hours.

Festival By The Lake
‘Festival by the lake’ is taking place at Whitecross Bay on Saturday 18th January from 12 noon til 10pm. Organised by the Ambleside Rotary Club, the event is raising money for North West Air Ambulance, and local charity Danny’s Healing Fields. There will be fun for all the family including face painting, arts and crafts, balloon modelling and a jester. Alongside this, you’ll find a range of local musicians providing live entertainment, and a selection of caterers offering a wide range of fresh local produce. Tickets are £10 for an adult, £5 for a child, or £25 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children).

Windermere Lake Cruises
A cruise on Lake Windermere is one of the best ways to enjoy the stunning scenery. They run throughout the day, with boats sailing from Bowness, Lakeside, Ambleside, Ferry House and Brockhole. You can take a circular cruise to take in the islands and scenery, or make a day of it by stopping off in Ambleside, Bowness, Lakeside or at Brockhole. You can also combine tickets for a cruise and local attraction, such as Lakes Aquarium at Lakeside. There are facilities for prams and buggies on a number of the boats.

The Fun Factory
This indoor play centre in Bowness is the perfect place to let the kids burn of some energy on a rainy day! Situated right next to the lake, you can relax in the lounge and take in the stunning scenery while the kids play.
